Performed works
The geotechnical study has been drafted in two stages. Most of the exploration works have been performed during 2015. The additional works from 2016 consisted of:
- Piezometrical measurement of the soil
- Proposals on the stratigraphy of industrial floors
- Proposals on the stratigraphy of roads, platforms and parking lots
- Earthworks Bulk Assessments
- Technical recommendations regarding foundations, platforms, roads, floors, and parking lots.
The site represents a horizontal homogeneity, and also a vertical heterogeneity. The succession is identical within all boreholes. The upper side consists of a tops soil, followed by a clay unit, a layer of gravel with sands and pebbles, and the base layer – Sebes Formation (weak sand cemented within a clay matrix). In order to have a complex characterization of the site, the followings have been performed:
- 5 boreholes advanced down to 10 m (2015)
- 15 boreholes advanced down to 6 m (2015)
- 15 heavy dynamic penetrations depending on the depth where the maximum blows have been reached (50 blows)
- Standard Penetration Tests (SPT)
- 3 geotechnical boreholes advanced down to 10 m (2016)
- 2 boreholes equipped with piezometers (2016)
- 10 dynamic plate tests (2016)
- Laboratory tests: physical tests, direct shear test, triaxial tests, soil compressibility
